Company Origins and Vision

Cappoquin Logistics & Document Storage began operations in February 2002 under the direct ownership of Thomas and Ann Kiely. With a strong background in Supply Chain Management, they identified opportunities in the logistics industry to offer tailored solutions. Driven by their goal of career autonomy, they quickly set about developing an Express Nationwide Delivery Service to meet the growing demands of the transport and logistics market.

Building a Nationwide Network

Focusing on customer service, value for money, efficiency, and reliability, they developed a complete transport network, specialising in domestic groupage. The bespoke collection and delivery service quickly gained traction, and a nationwide delivery service network was established.

Acquisition of a 5.5-acre site
Expansion to Dungarvan

As Cappoquin Logistics expanded, so did the fleet. The business reached a significant milestone in 2015 with the acquisition of a 5.5-acre site with two 30,000 sq ft warehouses in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. This move marked a pivotal moment as operations transitioned from Cappoquin to Dungarvan, establishing a nucleus for the Transport & Haulage Division.

Strategic Growth Opportunities

Relocating to the IDA Industrial Estate in Dungarvan provided access to a broader road network, new markets, enhanced visibility, and a larger talent pool. These advantages reinforced the long-term sustainability of the business and opened doors for further growth.

Diversification into Document Storage and Warehousing

With increasing brand recognition and a drive for expansion, Cappoquin Logistics diversified further. A new division for Confidential Document Storage was established, operating from a warehouse adjacent to the Transport Hub. Additionally, the Warehousing and Storage Management division expanded, and in 2020, a warehouse in Shandon, Dungarvan was acquired, becoming the base for the Warehouse & Storage division.

High-Spec Warehouses for Controlled Substances

With the growth of the warehouse and storage markets, Cappoquin Logistics obtained licenses and authorisations for the storage of controlled drugs. High-spec warehouses were established, featuring advanced temperature control systems, including air conditioning, humidifiers, and precise temperature mapping conducted under strict protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards.
